“Unless you’ve picked some obscure topic for your content, there will be millions of potential visitors aimlessly surfing every day just waiting to be driven to your content.”
So much in life is about attitude. We try to stay very positive and assume that there are people surfing around just hoping to find quality content like ours. While we can actively try to find them by using mailing lists, there are several passive (yet more challenging) methods to try as well. Let’s take a look at classified ads and free-for-all (FFA) sites.
Both of these services allow you to post a short message for some period of time (usually a month or less) under a general category. As new messages are posted, yours are bumped further down the list. We take our ten e-mail campaigns and distill them down into ten short messages. Based on our subject matter we usually skip the summer months, or end-of-year holiday months, and schedule them accordingly.
We then use software packages to queue the campaigns up. Then on the schedule dates we simply click a button. Your welcome to do it manually, but keep in mind that there are thousands of these sites to submit to.
Next, we sign-up to host our own FFA service for the purpose of getting several hundred leads of our own. Who better to pitch to than the people who submit content of their own to your FFA? Most FFA services allow you to configure an auto-responder – a tool that sends out a message you prepare to everyone who submits. From our e-mail campaigns, we develop a single summary message and pop that in as our auto-response.
Below are some free services we recommend – we like ones that let you pick your own categories and include the free auto-responder. After you have had a chance to register for these programs, come back and continue on to the next lesson. Be sure to bookmark this page so you don’t lose your place.
